This must have been my first sewing project in almost years…shame full I know, but due to lack of energy and what not, I just have not been up to much! But me and my mum were in C&H fabrics a few weeks ago when we found sewing patterns were at half price (OMG I know!!! *AMAZING*) and that’s when we found this gem of a pattern! Ive been wanting to make a cute little collar for a while now, and this was a really good pattern to try and ease me back into sewing as I have never been really very good at it. this project was just perfect to build a little confidence 🙂
So much so, I am attempting my next, in a very very slow manner. I find I am the slowest at sewing, mainly due to the fact i have M.E and have to rest after short amounts of sewing, and then there is the setbacks…oh crumbs I have had so many of these in this current project. If it was not for my amazingly talented mum I would not have got this far! It will be a miracle if I it get completed. However I am determined!!! I have the completed item in my imagination, and that makes me very happy, so I just have to keep that in mind every time i make a silly mistake! It is a real test of patience, not something I’m used to!
So here is a sneak peek! Any guesses as to what it is?!
Its been a while since Mr Bingley got his spot in the limelight so i just though i would share with you a little about his favourite activities.
First and foremost his favourite toy is Baby Pooh. They have been together since Bingley was small, and it is still Bingleys toy of choice. Baby Pooh was picked up from a bargain bin in a charity shop, but was in brand new condition. Now though as the years have passed Pooh only has half an ear left and his jumper is slightly worst for wear, and even a tumble in the washing machine fails to make him glow, but he is much loved by Mr Bingley and I have to admit Baby Pooh is very cute!
Although he may not look like it Mr Bingley is very clever, and sometimes he does not always get the chance to use his brain at its best. Although nibbling on Baby Pooh’s ears is fun, it does not stretch Mr Bingleys intelligence! So recently my family bought him a special ‘thinking’ toy for our favourite little man, it is a Nina Ottosson’s Interactive Dog Toy called ‘the brick’. And so far has been a massive success. I would not really call it much of a challenge for Bingley, as he worked out what to do first time, but it still keeps him busy for a little bit and makes having treats a bit of a workout for him too! The pictures make him look terrible grumpy…Believe it or not he does actually enjoy playing with it, I think he just has a serious face on because of all the thinking!
He is also very fond of a little game with his tennis ball, he does not go crazy over it like some dogs, but enjoys collecting the ball as long as it is in the comfort of his own home. He wont play fetch out on walks at all. In fact he thinks that is rather embarrassing so we stopped attempting that a long time ago!
My last pictures are possibly the most frequented of Bingley activities. Its a daily job Mr Bingley feels he has to do, in fact he sits in the armchair when he knows its 4:30pm and waits for the newspaper boy to deliver the paper! We have always allowed him to do this task as frankly its super cute and Bingley utterly loves collecting mail and the newspapers from the door. The only trouble is when you have not realised he has collected it and he then goes on to rip it up…Yes its very naughty, and quite frustrating, but hey, that’s why we love him! 😀
I love the rawness of this weeks post. It’s such a simple idea which needs very little work, and it doesn’t even need hanging up! Just prop it up against a wall, so its easy to move when you get bored with your room layout!
A word of warning though if you have youngsters, make sure there are no splinters, other wise it could be OUCH!
It seems an absolute age since I held my sisters vintage inspired hen party. But as promised here are some of the photos of some of the little details of the special day. I made each hen a heart shaped blackboard necklace, of which they could decorate with their own chalk pen. You can buy blank wooden hearts on ebay, and a good quality chalk board paint at good DIY stores if you want to make these yourself!
I also made some drink charms, plenty of bunting, and a notice board (with the help of my best friend!!) for everyone to leave a message on in the form of vintage postcard. We played Mr & Mrs, and pin the kiss on David Beckham, whilst we ate copious amounts of lovely food brought by each of the girls.
It was an amazing afternoon, and the evening was just a lovely as we met up with the Men and went for drinks in a local bar.
Please do excuse some very rushed photography, as i barely had time to take perfect pics as frankly we were having way too much fun to be worrying about photography! Which is how any special day should be 😀
As the title suggests I’m feeling a little guilty as to how long it has taken to get back on my blog…Needless to say my Big Sisters wedding was the priority for me and everything else has had to take a back seat for the time being. It was completely and utterly worth it though, Her wedding was on the 25th of August and the day was Amazing. Friends and family really did make the day one to remember and there was even a little rain for good luck! Hopefully once the photos come back I will share some of the details from her big day 🙂
At the moment whilst she is on Honeymoon with her new hubby, I am flat sitting and babysitting their adorable Jack Russel Bauer. Bauer’s favorite activities include sunbathing, sunbathing more sunbathing, cuddles and then some more cuddles, and running around with his toy pony. Pretty cute! Those of you who are familiar with my posts about Mr Bingley will probably like to know that Bauer and Bingley are best friends, and whilst I have been here I have made sure Bauer gets the odd visit to see his little buddy Mr Bingley!
Their friendship is made even more special by the fact that Bauer has troubles with other dogs when out and about, and Mr Bingley is pretty much his only doggy play friend, awww!
Mr Bingley did not want us to leave on our last visit home, and this is the face peering out from under the gate that I had to leave…It breaks my heart every time!
