A pretty, old tea/chocolate cup made a beautiful planter for one of my favourite plants, Hyacinths! I found this cup and saucer a good while back, but enjoyed planning ahead and I got it planted up ahead of time and gave this to mum on mothers day. She loved it 🙂

December is creeping up on us pretty quick, and pretty soon it will be Crimbo, which means one thing. Money is tight!

Sooooo, us ladies always like a hand  bag or two and so this Wednesday I am finding vintage bags for under £15! They could be a sneaky cheap pre Christmas treat for you, or a bargain gift for a loved one.

So here are my top picks, I love them all, but the first and the last are my favourites! I love them!

It seems an absolute age since I held my sisters vintage inspired hen party. But as promised here are some of the photos of some of the little details of the special day. I made each hen a heart shaped blackboard necklace, of which they could decorate with their own chalk pen. You can buy blank wooden hearts on ebay, and a good quality chalk board paint at good DIY stores if you want to make these yourself!

I also made some drink charms, plenty of bunting, and a notice board (with the help of my best friend!!) for everyone to leave a message on in the form of vintage postcard. We played Mr & Mrs, and pin the kiss on David Beckham, whilst we ate copious amounts of lovely food brought by each of the girls.

It was an amazing afternoon, and the evening was just a lovely as we met up with the Men and went for drinks in a local bar.

Please do excuse some very rushed photography, as i barely had time to take perfect pics as frankly we were having way too much fun to be worrying about photography! Which is how any special day should be 😀

I recently visited a local garden center with my parents and stumbled across a range of jewellery by shrieking Violet Ltd. Being a massive fan of floral’s these instantly appealed (I wanted them all!), but I just love the natural element to them when combined with the modern materials.

This range is beautifully crafted dried flowers arranged within a clear perspex, surrounded by 925 silver. They do necklaces, earring, rings and bracelets, all utterly gorgeous!

Just take a look at the colours! pretty pretty!

Too many vintage vases!

Take a peep at these three vintage studio ware vases. I am having a clear out and these three lovelies have to go, so check out my etsy shop in the coming days if you like them ❤

ImageOk, so i really do love flowers, and plants. I love the imagery of flowers in fashion and design and love growing flowers even more. This year i have planted many many seeds and they have come up really well so far. I have grown a few veggies, like beetroot and spinach and salad leaves, and then an array of flowers for the garden and hanging baskets. I figured for a tiny bit of effort it would be alot cheaper than my mum buying already grown plants later on in the season. Also i have some bits growing which i hope will be in flower ready for my sisters wedding in August so that we can give a few plants as favours and generally be used for decoration. It really is a gamble as i think i may have planted them late, so i may be in for a disappointment, but ill share pictures if my flowers make it to the big day! I would share pictures of the green house but Ive made a complete mess of it, and other gardeners would be shocked at the lack of organisation, it literally is a seedling free for all! My sister is also in the fortunate position to be buying her first place with her fiance, so this has given me an extra reason to plant a few more bits this year…I’m not sure she realises yet but her back garden might just be full of Nasturchans and Lavender, and Chocolate mint…Definately a terrible mix aesthetically, but hey i never said i was a garden designer 😀

I pretty much have this choatic approch to anything i try to do, i put it down to the fact i have little energy due to my M.e and so when i do try to do things i try and make up for not being able to do everything i want to, so everything turns into a choatic jumble…which in the long term makes things alot more tiring and stressful, but overall i think gardening can be one of the most relaxing things you can do. I am literally 24 going on 65, but i love what i love, and i love flowers.

Spring inspirations: Number 3

A couple of vintage sachets of flower dust, found in the loft, amongst my mothers vintage fabrics. There is something very quaint about them, don’t you think?
